Hole #4

The Par 4, 447 yard 4th hole, plays much tougher than its handicap rating would indicate. The addition of the back green has made it the longest of the par 4's at Oaklands. The tee shot offers little trouble as the hole is fairly wide open for the average golfer. You must still beware of the errant shot to either the left or the right as there are strategically placed trees that can block your approach to the green.

The length of the hole makes it necessary to get off a good drive otherwise you will be left with a very long approach into a well protected small green. The green does not have any sand bunkers protecting the approach but is surrounded by deep rough and trees on both sides and to the back of the green. A short approach will usually stop short of the green or bounce into the deep rough. The normal prevailing wind adds to the difficulty of this hole as it will be a crosswind into your face.
